ABOUT JOHN Mc CALLY AND LIFESIGHTS PHOTOGRAPHY I have a passion for photography and creating special, meaningful, and impactful pictures for my clients. My work style is focused on art documentary photography, often "photojournalistic" in style, heavily influenced by my interest in history and sociology as well as my media and public relations/marketing background. I have over 20 years of still photography experience, specializing in music and other event photography including (destination) weddings, corporate outings, and publicity/advertising work. My vast experience includes photography within the corporate, art, sports, and music industries. Among many other clients, I am the staff photographer for the world’s largest music festival, the 11-day Summerfest event in Milwaukee. Please call me to discuss your specific photography needs and my photographic style. I work extremely hard to exceed the wishes and desires of my clients, and to provide innovative, creative photography as well as excellent customer service. And, like my tagline says, I have "A Different Vantage Point" and photographic point of view in comparison to other photographers and studios. My sight (and my camera lenses) is focused to compose images that tell stories and can transmit energy. I have a unique creative vision to showcase and recreate life through photography. ART PHOTOGRAPHY Besides my event, wedding and corporate photography services I provide for clients, I also enjoy taking art photographs for the sake of art as well as on commission for clients. I am constantly challenging myself and experimenting with different photography series and motifs. Following in the very big footsteps of some of my favorite photographers in the history of the medium, primarily Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Frank, Garry Winogrand, and Stephen Shore, I am very much into capturing life and the social landscape. Besides what I call my "Social InterActive Photography," I also enjoy doing atypical "Landscapes and Still Lifes." All of the portfolio photos are for sale. If interested, please contact me to discuss the sizes and pricing. I only use the finest processing and print paper. ART BOOKS I also create very compelling art photography books. Most of these incorporate my own photographs, for example, of music festivals or weddings I have shot or for some of my corporate clients. But since the excellent word of mouth has been spreading about my ability to layout, sequence and print high quality photo books, more and more people are bringing me their images to create special memory books for them. Besides my vision for capturing the "decisive moment," my art/event photo books have received rave reviews for their layout, sequencing and storytelling ability. John McCally LifeSights Photography (612) 845-7999 firstname.lastname@example.org MUSIC PHOTOGRAPHY I love music, and I love to photograph musicians, bands, concerts, and musical festivals. I really get into the flow and energy, and it shows it my photos. As a longtime hockey goalie, I use my quick reflexes, excellent anticipation and unique vision to expertly capture the artists at their emotional peak. I can relate to being on their stage and I work hard to produce top-quality, interesting and impressive music pictures. It's very entertaining to me as well as rewarding for my clients. Music client list and photo settings include: Summerfest, The Tom Fuller Band, Paul Metsa, The Meat Puppets, Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame, Les Paul Birthday Bash, Substitute, Captain Mackey's, Harley Celebration, Riverfest, and Wisconsin State Fair, among many others. EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY For over twenty years, I have been photographing events, large and small, indoors and outdoors. I love the action, energy, and excitement of special events, whether they are bands playing music, a fund-raising gala, or a couple getting married. Besides photographing the main event aspects, I also capture the smaller details that are very important in proper event documentation and for telling a comprehensive story through photography. While I take a very artistic and creative approach to my general event photography, I always capture what the client wants. Having worked in the event production and marketing business myself, I understand the environment and the effort required to produce quality events. If you hire me, receiving top-notch photography in an unobtrusive manner would be the least of your worries. I thoroughly enjoy event photography, and it shows in the quality and diversity of my images. Client list and photo settings include: Summerfest, The Tom Fuller Band, Junior Achievement, Beloit College, Beloit Janesville Symphony, Riverfest, O2M Productions, Beloit International Film Festival, Branigan Communications, Milwaukee Art Museum, Hidden River Arts Festival, and Wisconsin State Fair, among others, as well as corporate events, family gatherings, and personal photojournalistic projects. WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY My wedding photography captures the many different aspects of life and social interaction surrounding this truly special event. I primarily use a documentary, candid/photojournalistic approach, but I also appreciate posed portraiture as well. My style also incorporates my unique vision for landscapes, still life, and art photography. I am known for taking numerous photos in various settings and utilizing different vantage points to create compelling photography. I understand the specialness of a wedding event and work in a very professional manner to capture those memorable moments and not dictate them. My philosophy is to meet with the bride and groom before the wedding and to have a photographic game plan; but I never have a strict checklist that would restrict my intuitive, improvisational abilities. I like to be in on the action, for example on the dance floor at the reception, but I will never be the center of action or attention. I am very selective about my wedding photography -- quality of weddings, not quantity, are most important to me. Like a marriage itself, there needs to be an excellent fit between the photographer and the wedding party. Therefore, I am looking for fun couples that want a fun photographer to capture their family, friends, setting, and times. Schedule permitting, I enjoy photographing destination weddings because they allow me to incorporate my diverse photographic genres and are an excellent match with my outgoing personality. CORPORATE PHOTOGRAPHY My corporate photography ranges from product advertising images to venue shots to luncheons and banquets to grand openings and other events to personnel photos. Many of my images appear in internal and external marketing collateral pieces and in editorial publications. I work in a professionally collaborative manner with my corporate clients to produce excellent images for their various specific needs. Client list and photo settings includes: Benjamin Moore Appleby Decor Centre, Lighthouse Safety, Palermo's Pizza, Roadrunner Transportation Services, Wisconsin Bar Association, Landmark Resort, The Daily Reporter/Wisconsin law Journal/Wisconsin Builder, Mo's Restaurant, WCREW, Variety Club, and the Junior League, among others.
